Khaberni - The European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, Hajah Labib, said on Tuesday that the European Union looks forward to enhancing its cooperation in humanitarian issues with Jordan, in light of Jordan's strategic role on both the regional and international levels.
Labib added in a post on her "X" platform account that a productive exchange took place with Jordanian ministers: Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zaina Touqan, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Al-Qudah, and Minister of Investment, Tarek Abu Ghazaleh, which focused on key regional issues, especially Gaza and Syria.
The meeting was attended by the Jordanian Ambassador to Brussels and Head of the Jordanian Mission to the European Union, Yousef Al-Bataineh.
This took place on the sidelines of a European tour begun by a Jordanian ministerial delegation, in preparation for the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in Jordan on April 21-22, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, with the presence of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
This tour comes as part of the government's efforts to ensure the conference achieves its goals in enhancing Jordan's presence in European markets and translating the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union into actionable investment projects, serving the developmental and economic objectives of both sides.
The delegation held a high-level dialogue session at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, during which it met with the European Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs, Dubravka Suica, alongside European business associations, financial institutions, company representatives, and the private sector.
The delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, attended by representatives of companies and the private sector in Belgium, during which the ministers showcased the most competitive advantages, investment opportunities, and the attractive investment environment in Jordan.
The delegation plans to conduct a series of meetings to highlight unique investment opportunities in the Kingdom, and explore prospects for investment cooperation between Jordan and the European Union.
