Khaberni - Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, discussed cooperation in the fields of awqaf and dawah work with the Syrian Minister of Awqaf, Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri.
Al-Khalayleh, upon hosting Shukri and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday, confirmed the depth of the brotherly relations between Jordan and Syria and Jordan's keenness under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II to expand the horizons of cooperation and integration between the two countries in various fields, which serves common goals and promotes values of unity and affection.
He highlighted the areas of work of the Ministry of Awqaf in calling to Allah, taking care of mosques and developing their message, qualifying imams and preachers, providing Islamic education, and presenting a moderate Islamic discourse that reflects the bright image of Islam, in addition to the ministry's developmental and economic role through the Zakat Fund, the Hajj Fund, and the development of awqaf properties.
For his part, Shukri emphasized the continuation of cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of expertise, pointing to his country's efforts to benefit from the Jordanian pioneering experience in the field of awqaf and employing it to develop the reality of the Syrian awqaf sector.
The meeting was attended by the General Mufti of the Kingdom, Ahmad Al-Hassanat, the Chief Islamic Judge Abdul Hafiz Rabtah, the Imam of the Hashemite Court Doctor Ahmad Al-Khalayleh, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf Ismail Al-Khatib, the Secretary-General of the Fatwa Zaid Al-Kilani, and the General Directors of the Departments: Hajj and Umrah Magdi Batoush, Zakat Fund Abdel Samirat, Awqaf Property Development Yousef Al-Qudah, Hajj Fund Fouad Korei, and King Abdullah II Institute for Dawah Training Abdul Sattar Al-Qudah.
The Syrian delegation visited the King Abdullah II Institute for the Preparation and Qualification of Preachers, and listened to a detailed explanation by the director of the institute, Abdul Sattar Al-Qudah, about the institute's mission and the training programs it holds, and its efforts in spreading the contents of the Amman Message, while the delegation also toured the institute’s facilities and the historical site of the Cave of the Seven Sleepers.
