Khaberni - The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed details of a circulating video in which the artist Samah Anwar talks about her detention inside one of the traffic units while completing her car licensing procedures and described the incident as unjustified.
The Ministry of Interior explained that after examination and investigation, it was found that the artist Samah Anwar is required for enforcement under a court ruling issued against her with a three-month imprisonment in one case, in addition to another ruling fining her in a separate case.
Based on this, the necessary legal procedures were immediately taken upon verification of her legal status, in accordance with the laws and regulations, without any excess or arbitrariness.
The ministry confirmed that all dealings with the incident were conducted within the complete legal frameworks, and that the procedures were applied in accordance with the rulings of the judiciary and in respect for the sovereignty of the law, emphasizing that there was no discriminatory treatment either negatively or positively, and that all individuals are subject to the law without exception.
The Ministry of Interior also urged the public not to follow rumors or inaccurate information circulating on social media, and to refer to the official statements issued by the competent authorities to verify the facts, in an effort to maintain public awareness and prevent the circulation of false information.
On his part, the lawyer of the artist Samah Anwar filed an objection to the ruling issued against her with a three-month imprisonment in one of the cases, and requested an appeal of the fine in the other case, in addition to requesting her release.
