Infantino Responds to Blatters Call to Boycott the World Cup in America

Khaberni - FIFA President Gianni Infantino responded to his predecessor Sepp Blatter, who called on fans to "avoid America" during the Men's World Cup for security reasons.

America is hosting the World Cup along with Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

Infantino said on the sidelines of his meeting with the President of the Brazilian Football Federation: People want to go, they will go and celebrate, and we will all celebrate together.

Blatter was FIFA President from 1998 to 2015 and resigned amid investigations related to corruption.

The international soccer community's concerns about America go back to Trump's expansionary stance towards Greenland, the travel ban, and aggressive approaches to handling immigrants and protesters against immigration laws in American cities, especially in Minneapolis.
