Khaberni - The director of the Drug Control Administration, Brigadier Hassan Al-Qudah, stated that cannabis is the most prevalent narcotic in Jordan, noting limited cases of drug cultivation inside some homes, describing them as very few and dealt with according to the law.
Al-Qudah explained on "Kingdom," Tuesday evening, that the use of heroin in Jordan is very rare, pointing out that the danger of this substance lies in that an overdose can lead, in some cases, to immediate death.
He continued, "Cases of heroin use in Jordan are very rare, and those who use it are known to us, most of them are in prisons."
He noted that females are less involved in drug-related cases compared to males, with 1010 females apprehended in drug cases during the year 2025, compared to 1086 females in 2024.
Al-Qudah emphasized that combating drugs represents a community responsibility and is not limited only to the Drug Control Administration, stressing the pivotal role of the family and school in combating the drug menace and reducing its spread.
He pointed out that the age group most involved in drug use in Jordan ranges from 18 to 37 years old, which necessitates the intensification of targeted awareness and prevention programs for this group.
