Khaberni - The Majali clan issued a statement regarding the murder of the lawyer Zeina by her brother, the engineer.
According to the statement, today Zeina’s family went to the Grand Criminal Court in Amman and filed a claim against the son who committed the crime, and both the father and the mother demanded the enforcement of the law and its penalties on their son, without mercy, so that it serves as a lesson to others whose minds and bodies are ravaged by the scourge of drugs.
And below is the text of the statement:
Statement from the Majali Family
To the people and the noble Jordanian family
{Say, "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector, and upon Allah let the believers rely."} Allah speaks the truth.
While we thank the Jordanian people and the united Jordanian family for their sympathy and solidarity with us in this painful incident that befell our family, the murder of our distinguished lawyer daughter Zeina by her engineer brother, who was afflicted by the scourge of drugs and addiction despite his higher education in some of the world's top universities, the drug disaster continues to hit, and is still striking, our values and social fabric across all Arab societies.
This scourge that can only be addressed with the cooperation of families, which might be affected by one of their children, God forbid, along with state institutions, whether through immediate treatment or by reporting the afflicted child, and without succumbing to feelings of motherhood, fatherhood, or brotherhood, as leniency in this leads to catastrophic consequences for the family, the individual, and society, which we hope to never see in our families and among the Jordanian populace.
Believing in the aforementioned, today the family of the murdered martyr lawyer Zeina went to the Grand Criminal Court in Amman and filed a claim against their son who carried out this horrific crime, and both the father and the mother demanded the enforcement of the law and its penalties on their son, without mercy as allowed by the law in cases like this, so that it serves as a lesson for others whose minds and bodies are ravaged by the scourge of drugs in our society.
In conclusion, we pray for mercy and forgiveness for our daughter, that Allah may allow her entry into truth with the martyrs and the truthful; and we greatly appreciate the stance of all the noble children of our Jordanian people, who have overwhelmed us with an outpouring of their sympathy, love, solidarity, and condemnation of this gruesome crime.
May Allah protect our dear Jordan and its generous, noble, and kind people, under the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Trustworthy Crown Prince, His Highness Prince Hussein.
And may Allah spare you all harm to your beloved ones
