Health Committee Agreements Reached on Private Sector Doctors Tax

Khaberni - The chairman of the Health and Food Committee, Ahmed Al-Sarahneh, stated that the committee aims, through its meetings, to reach a balanced tax formula that ensures tax justice without harming medical staff or imposing additional financial burdens on citizens.

Al-Sarahneh, in statements to "Al-Mamlaka" channel on Tuesday evening, expressed the committee's rejection of any attempts at tax evasion, emphasizing the need to protect public money to ensure the sustainability of the healthcare sector and the quality of its services, while affirming that citizens will not bear any new burdens as a result of the tax imposed on doctors.

He pointed to the reach of agreements concerning the tax imposed on private sector doctors, noting that the doctors are committed to the national invoicing system, under the supervision and control of the Doctors' Syndicate and the Income and Sales Tax Department.

He added that hospitals and insurance companies are handling the billing of medical procedures performed by doctors, as part of organizing the process and ensuring tax transparency.

He mentioned that the committee recommended forming a joint committee that includes the Doctors' Syndicate and the Income and Sales Tax Department, with the aim of reaching consensus decisions that serve the public interest of both parties.
