Launch of Foreign Airlines Operating Flights from Amman Airport

Khaberni  - The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Captain Daifallah Farajat, and the Turkish Ambassador to the Kingdom, Yağcıbayır Maz Oglo, discussed the outstanding relations between Jordan and Turkey, particularly in the aviation and civil aviation sectors.

Both parties confirmed the need to enhance the prospects of joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting discussed the main challenges facing airline companies in the region and the world, and ways to overcome them through ongoing technical and legislative coordination.

Farajat reviewed the developments in Jordan's aviation sector, including the start of operations by several foreign airlines from Amman's Marka Airport.

He explained that this step is part of the government's plans to enhance the competitive edge of the airport and create an attractive operational environment for aviation investment, which contributes to boosting the tourism and commercial movement in the capital, Amman, and serves the interests of national companies.

In turn, the Turkish ambassador referred to the start of expansion works at "Sabiha Gökçen" International Airport in Istanbul, noting that this step would greatly increase the airport's capacity and provide more diverse and flexible travel options for passengers, thus enhancing air connectivity between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their anticipation to continue their joint cooperation and exchange of technical expertise, to ensure the security, safety, and efficiency of air transport between the two countries.
