Abu AlSamn Inspects Flood Damage Mitigation Projects

Khaberni - Maher Abu Al-Samn, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, conducted an extensive field tour today, Tuesday, covering several vital work sites in the Dead Sea area and the Karak governorate, to monitor the progress of projects aimed at mitigating flood damage and protecting water facilities and developing the main road network.
The minister began his tour by inspecting a series of vital bridges in the Dead Sea area, where he reviewed the ongoing protection works for the "Zarqa Ma'in" bridge, which include the implementation of concrete protections and barriers at the bridge's entrances and exits to address erosion caused by water flow. He also followed up on reinforcement works at the "Mujib Bridge" and "Ghor Al-Mazra'a Culvert" using rubble and concrete. At the "Wadi Shaqiq Bridge", the minister inspected the works of diverting the stream to direct water towards the entrances and implementing intensive protections including gabion and concrete works to address side erosion.
In the "Numeira" area on the Wadi Araba road, Abu Al-Samn followed up on the implementation of protection works for the existing culvert outlet, in addition to a project to construct a new box culvert with 10 openings measuring (3*3) meters, which also includes reconstructing the existing road for a length of 180 meters to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement during the rainy seasons.
During his visit to the "Sarfa–Al-Ghor" road project, which spans 18 kilometers, Abu Al-Samn emphasized the need to complete the last phase of the project, which has reached an 85% completion rate, noting that this road, with a total cost of 11 million dinars and divided into three phases, serves as a vital artery connecting the north of Karak to the Al-Ghor area, primarily aimed at enhancing commercial and agricultural movement in the region.
