Dozens of casualties and widespread disturbances in America due to the snowstorm Vern

Khaberni  - The snowstorm "Vern" has resulted in human losses and widespread disturbances throughout the United States, after hitting about 40 states, causing the deaths of dozens of people and the loss of electricity for nearly a million people, in addition to a major paralysis in air travel and the cancellation of thousands of flights.

In the capital, Washington, the storm clouds cleared after two days of snow and freezing rain that covered the city's landmarks in white and paralyzed movement in it, starting intensive efforts to gradually bring life back to the streets and roads.

The snow removal operations resulted in the opening of main roads and a partial return of commercial activity, in efforts participated in by official authorities alongside volunteers who helped facilitate movement after heavy snowfall over two consecutive days.

In the aviation sector, US airports recorded approximately 16,000 flight cancellations during the past two days, while more than 30,000 other flights were delayed, due to operational difficulties and a shortage of staff, besides the inability of many workers to reach their workplaces due to the weather conditions.

Airport officials confirmed that work teams continue to clean aircraft runways amid these challenges, with hopes of returning to the normal course of air traffic by the middle of the week.

Despite the losses and disruptions caused by the storm, some residents have found in it space for entertainment, play, and enjoyment of snow scenes, offering a different aspect of the harsh weather's impacts.
