AlShara Visits Moscow to Meet Putin

Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara is expected to visit Moscow tomorrow, Wednesday, to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Reuters reported quoting "Syria TV" saying that President al-Shara will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow tomorrow, Wednesday.

This is the second visit of al-Shara to Russia since he took office.

Al-Shara visited Russia last October, where he met with President Putin.

Al-Shara's first visit discussed the renewal of the agreements for the Russian bases in Hmeimim and Tartus, signing contracts for arming the Syrian army, Russian support for the Syrian government in extending its authority over the entire territory, maintaining state unity, and helping it lift sanctions on Syria within the Security Council.

During the conversations, Putin affirmed that Russia and Syria have a special relationship spanning decades, highlighting that Russia's relations with Syria have always been guided by the interests of the Syrian people.

Al-Shara also confirmed to Putin Damascus's commitment to all previous agreements and its desire to redefine relations based on respect for sovereignty and territorial unity.
