Khaberni - Petra University signed a memorandum of understanding with Lamis Detergent Manufacturing Company, aiming to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of applied scientific research, practical training, and community service, aligning with the goals of sustainable development.
The memorandum was signed in the presence of representatives from both sides; Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Salman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, represented Petra University on behalf of its president, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, while Dr. Ola Al-Buraik, the Director of Business Development and Digital Transformation, represented Lamis Company.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Assistant President of the University for International Cooperation and Agreements, Dr. Kenza Mansour, along with several faculty members of the university, and managers and representatives of Lamis Detergent Manufacturing Company.
The memorandum aims to establish a general framework for cooperation between the two parties in several areas, notably the implementation of joint research projects, the exchange of academic and technical expertise, the provision of access to laboratories and equipment, as well as providing practical and field training opportunities for university students, and organizing joint workshops and training courses serving the industrial sector and the local community.
Professor Dr. Miyas Al-Rimawi, Vice President of Petra University, emphasized during his speech at the signing ceremony the importance of true partnership between academic institutions and the industrial sector, as it plays a role in linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, and supports national industries with qualified talents and scientific research that contribute to the development of products and improving their quality according to modern standards.
On her part, Dr. Ola Al-Buraik expressed Lamis Company's pride in this partnership, confirming that the cooperation with Petra University is an important step towards developing research and practical work, opening new horizons for training and capacity building, thereby enhancing the integration between the academic and industrial sectors.
This memorandum comes as part of Petra University's efforts to expand its network of partnerships with private sector institutions, enhancing its role in serving the community and supporting the journey of development and innovation in Jordan.
