Khaberni - Early this Tuesday morning, young Hazem Qa'qour, an employee of the Greater Amman Municipality, died due to injuries he sustained from being run over while performing his field work yesterday on Independence Street.
According to his colleagues on the site "Khaberni," Qa'qour tried to cross the street, only to be surprised by the rapid bus passing by, which led to him sustaining severe injuries. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he later passed away in the intensive care unit.
The incident has once again brought attention to the traffic safety issue on Independence Street and the safety crossings on the rapid bus route, one of the most vital streets in the capital.
