Khaberni - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani requested today, Monday, the summoning of the Israeli ambassador in his country to clarify an incident involving two Carabinieri (military police) personnel who were assaulted yesterday while on duty at the Italian General Consulate in Jerusalem.
According to (AKI News), the Foreign Ministry reported that the two Carabinieri were directly threatened by an armed man in civilian clothes, believed to be an Israeli settler, who pointed a machine gun at them while they were on a reconnaissance visit in preparation for a planned mission for the ambassadors of the European Union in a village near Ramallah, within the territories of the Palestinian National Authority.
