Trump Hamas helped find the body of the last detainee and must be disarmed

Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the "Hamas" movement helped identify the location of the body of the last Israeli detainee, calling the movement to "fulfill its commitment to disarm."

In the meantime, Israel says it will reopen the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt "in a limited capacity" later this week, as the opening of the crossing and the return of another detainee's body were the last two major obstacles of the first phase of Trump's plan.

Trump added in remarks to "Axios" that the search for the body and the identification process were "very difficult", because the search teams "had to go through hundreds of bodies" in the area.

He added: "It was a harsh scene."

Trump said of Hamas: "They worked very hard to return the body. They were working with Israel on that. You can imagine how difficult it was", he also emphasized saying "now we have to disarm Hamas as promised."

He added "no one thought we were going to bring back all the detainees. It was a great moment," adding that only the parents and other Israelis realize the importance of bringing all bodies back home.

Trump explained that his advisers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner briefed him on the retrieval operation on Monday morning, then he spoke afterwards to Netanyahu who "was very happy."
