A Simple Way to Lose Weight Without Strict Diets

Khaberni - A study conducted by researchers from the University of Bristol in the UK has revealed a method that helps reduce calorie intake without counting food portions or following strict diets.

During the study, participants were asked to eat unprocessed foods for two weeks, and then consume only ultra-processed foods for an additional two weeks. The natural foods included fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, eggs, fish, and meats, whereas the ultra-processed foods included manufactured products to which sweeteners, fats, and flavorings were added, with both diets being similar in fat, sugar, salt, and fiber content.

Participants were allowed to eat as much as they desired, all food portions were weighed, and the scientists precisely analyzed their sizes and their nutritional content in terms of calories.

The results showed that the portions of participants in the first group were significantly larger in terms of weight, but their average daily energy intake decreased by about 300 calories.

The researchers attribute this effect to the lower energy density of natural foods, as fruits and vegetables are rich in water and fiber but low in calories, and as a result, those who consume them feel fuller faster even though their energy intake decreases.
