Googles Visual Identity Iconic Sans Fonts Officially Available in Documents

Khaberni - Google announced the availability of its iconic "Google Sans" and "Google Sans Flex" fonts as open source; this now allows their official integration into documents and spreadsheets of Google presentations.

This expansion comes as part of Google's logo redesign in 2015, where the company developed the "Product Sans" font eventually reaching enhanced versions that ensure exceptional clarity in the company's user interfaces and small text sizes on Android phones.

Later, the "Google Sans Flex" font emerged, allowing greater customization in terms of weight, width, optical size, slant, grade, and roundness.

Google has made these features available as an open source "to bridge the visual gap between first-party and third-party applications".

It aims to provide a more unified experience across devices and platforms; creating clearer and more user-friendly interfaces when users interact with technology.

Consequently, it is now possible to use the "Google Sans," "Google Sans Flex," and "Google Sans Code" fonts—designed for coding—in Google documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, as well as in other editors.
