Khaberni - A Jordanian ministerial delegation began today, Monday, a European tour in preparation for the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in Jordan next April.
This tour, according to a statement by the Ministry of Investment, is part of the government efforts aimed at ensuring the conference achieves its objectives in enhancing the Jordanian presence in the European markets, translating the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union into implementable investment projects, and serving the developmental and economic goals of both sides.
The delegation included the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Engineer Yaarub Qudah, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, the Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Hammouri, along with the Jordanian ambassador in Brussels, Yusuf Batayneh.
Today, at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, the delegation held a high-level dialogue session which included a meeting with the European Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs Dubravka Suica, representatives of European business associations, European financial institutions, and private sector companies.
The delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, attended by representatives of companies and the private sector in Belgium, during which the ministers showcased the major competitive advantages, investment opportunities, and the attractive investment environment in Jordan.
The delegation is scheduled to conduct a series of meetings to highlight the unique investment opportunities in the Kingdom, and discuss prospects for investment cooperation between Jordan and the European Union.
The Jordanian-European Investment Conference is one of the outcomes from the Jordan and European Union summit that was held by His Majesty King Abdullah II with President of the European Council Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, on the eighth of this month.
During the summit, His Majesty expressed the Kingdom’s anticipation for the forthcoming Jordanian-European Investment Conference in April, which aims to enhance economic and investment partnerships between the two sides.
