According to the Power On news report, Apple's new direction is focused on completely redeveloping the Safari browser to align with the artificial intelligence era, aiming to confront new competitive offerings from companies like Perplexity and OpenAI, with planned features including the assessment of document and data reliability, and verification of information through multiple sources.
Integration of Siri across core applications
The report details a radical shift in Apple's strategy, where instead of envisaging standalone automated chat experiences built into applications such as Safari, TV, Health, Music, and Podcasts, the current direction is moving towards a more integrated experience.
The report mentioned that Apple has settled on integrating the new Siri system, built on the Gemini processor, at the heart of its core applications, rather than having multiple separate chatbots.
Despite the ambiguity still surrounding the final form of these interfaces, expectations indicate that updates about the new Siri will be announced as soon as next month.
