Khaberni - An attempt to "harass" a girl turned into a horrific crime in the Sharqia Governorate of Egypt, after two young men attacked a man with beating and stabbing, before using a flammable substance and setting fire to his body, in a shocking incident that shook the Egyptian street.
The details of the incident go back to the security forces receiving a notification from one of the hospitals about admitting a man with various wounds and severe burns throughout his body, due to a violent assault. The Egyptian Ministry of Interior said that preliminary investigations revealed that the altercation began after one of the young men harassed the victim's sister, which quickly escalated into a bloody assault where the suspects used a knife and stabbed the man before setting him on fire.
The neighbors rushed him to the hospital in an attempt to save him, while the security forces started the investigation immediately upon receiving the report, and managed to arrest the suspects with the tools used, after they confessed to the incident.
The authorities took the necessary legal measures, and the competent authorities continue to investigate to uncover the full details of the incident, amid increasing demands for tougher penalties for escalating violence crimes.
