Khaberni - Mahmoud Hayasat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, attributed the difference in the school calendar in public schools to their private counterparts; as a result of the ministry implementing a national program to support student learning in its schools.
He added that the program aims to implement remedial actions to address the educational loss among students and improve their academic achievement, noting that these measures include starting the school year ten days earlier than the approved date in both the first and second terms at all public schools, totaling 20 additional school days, in addition to preparing and teaching remedial materials in Arabic language and mathematics, as well as implementing quality professional development programs that include professional learning communities, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of teachers, school principals, and educational supervisors, thus supporting the optimal implementation of the remedial plan.
Regarding the distribution of school books to students, he confirmed that the books are available and have been delivered to the Directorates of Education and Education.
Regarding the schedule during Ramadan, Hayasat confirmed that there will be a change in the school schedule during the holy month, in line with other ministries, but it is too soon to specify the details, nature of the change, and the exact timings.
