Khaberni - The governor of the University district, Dr. Sakhr Al-Mawr Al-Haqish, stated that a building about to collapse in the Tila' Al Ali area has been dealt with.
Al-Haqish added in press statements this Sunday evening, that the civil defense teams and relevant authorities have started their field procedures to ensure the safety of residents and passersby, after a main pillar in the building, which is approximately 20 years old, collapsed.
He confirmed that 52 residents were evacuated from the building and were offered accommodation in shelters in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, although most of them preferred to move to other family locations.
The governor of the University district mentioned that a specialized committee from the National Building Council and the Royal Scientific Society recommended precautionary measures, including evacuation, until the final assessment of the building's condition.
