Khaberni - The new Princess Basma Educational Hospital conducted today, Sunday, its first successful cardiac catheterization operation, thereby launching a new phase of specialized medical services that previously required transferring patients to other hospitals.
This step comes just a few days after His Majesty King Abdullah II inaugurated the new hospital, which was designed to be a comprehensive medical facility serving the residents of Irbid Governorate, the north, and the surrounding areas according to the latest international standards.
The hospital's director, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shahabat, affirmed that the success of this operation represents a pivotal turning point in the hospital's journey, noting that this operation is the first of its kind to be performed in the hospital and is the result of the advanced equipment and qualified staff that the hospital has been equipped with. Previously, the hospital had to transfer catheterization cases to other hospitals outside the governorate due to the lack of necessary equipment and services at that time.
He added that the cardiology department in the hospital has been equipped with modern and advanced medical devices comparable to those found in the finest global centers, pointing out that the medical staff possesses the expertise and high competence required to handle such delicate cases.
