Khaberni - The Cabinet has decided to approve a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in the Republic of Turkey, and the Ministry of Transport in the Syrian Arab Republic; to cooperate in the field of transportation.
The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation and mutual connectivity between the three countries, increase the efficiency and sustainability of transport operations across their territories, and develop transport infrastructure among them; positively reflecting on the movement of goods and people, alongside exchanging expertise and encouraging and coordinating investments in infrastructure.
This cooperation includes, in addition to land and air transport, all possible future modes of transport, including railways and multi-modal logistics systems.
The agreement aims to unify standards and regulatory alignment, enhance digital transformation and smart transport systems, build capacity and exchange knowledge, govern transport corridors and coordinate them, in addition to involving the private sector and enhancing investment attraction.
A joint ministerial committee from the three countries, including Transport Ministers and relevant ministers, will be formed; to be a high-level coordinating body to provide strategic guidance, enhance dialogue, and supervise the implementation of the memorandum's terms.
