18 projects in the transportation sector included in the executive program for Vision 2026  2029

Khaberni - The Minister of Transport, Nidal Qatamin, held an extensive meeting with the directors of authorities and institutions affiliated with the ministry, aiming to examine the latest achievements of the projects included in the vision for economic modernization, and to follow the progress of transportation projects in the provinces.

During the meeting, the minister listened to a comprehensive presentation about the projects of the economic modernization vision program, the progress levels in those completed and planned, along with the time-sensitive and technical indicators linked to the execution of the vision’s execution programs. Each director also provided a detailed presentation on the projects within their jurisdiction, the completion percentages achieved, and work plans for coming periods.

In the second executive program of the economic modernization vision during the period 2026-2029, the transport sector includes 18 projects covering rail, road, sea, and air transport, focusing on enhancing the role of transport in supporting economic growth, providing safe and efficient transport services, supporting the transition to green transport, and reducing emissions, in alignment with national sustainability goals.

The transport sector within the economic modernization vision includes a set of developmental and economic targets, notably contributing to job creation, through implementing infrastructure projects for transport and developing transport and logistics services in various transport modes.

During the first executive program of the vision, 16 projects in the transport sector were completed, alongside 11 projects under implementation, with priorities targeting the enhancement of network efficiency, improving service levels, and boosting the sector's readiness for economic growth requirements.

Qatamin emphasized during the meeting the necessity of regularly monitoring performance indicators and achievement levels, working according to clear and specified plans, to ensure the projects included in the economic modernization vision are executed on their scheduled timelines and according to the highest standards of efficiency and quality, thereby enhancing the role of the transport sector as a fundamental lever for economic growth and improving the quality of services provided.

He pointed out that the upcoming phase requires enhancing coordination and integration between the ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions, accelerating the work pace, and immediately dealing with any challenges or obstacles that might affect the progress of projects, achieving the targeted economic and developmental impact of the transport projects in their various modes.

The minister also listened to the completion percentages related to the transport projects in the provinces, which are concerned with improving transport services and developing the infrastructure within them, emphasizing the necessity of intensifying efforts to complete these projects due to their direct impact in improving service levels for citizens and developing the transport system within the provinces, which comes as part of the government's focus on conducting field visits to the provinces to examine the reality of achievements and improve the quality of services provided.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, Fares Abu Diya, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Daifallah Al-Farajat, the General Director of the Jordanian Maritime Authority, Captain Abr Al-Dabas, the General Director of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Engineer Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, the General Director of the Hejaz Railway Corporation, Engineer Zahi Khalil, in addition to senior ministry officials involved.
