Khaberni - The Abu Dhabi Court for Family, Civil and Administrative Affairs obligated a man to pay 17,350 dirhams to a woman after he fraudulently took her money.
The details of the case are that the complainant filed a civil lawsuit against the defendant, demanding him to return 15,850 dirhams and compensate her for the financial and emotional damages she suffered, explaining that he deceived her by claiming he could get her husband out of detention, and after she paid him the amount, she discovered that she was a victim of fraud.
The complainant mentioned that the incident was recorded in a criminal case, in which a verdict was issued convicting the defendant and punishing him with a fine, and the judgment became final and absolute, which led her to file the civil lawsuit to claim her financial rights.
The court concluded by obligating the convicted person to return 15,850 dirhams to the complainant, and compensate her with 1,500 dirhams for material and moral damages, also obliging him to pay the fees and expenses.
