Khaberni - In a step aimed at enhancing the practical aspect and linking academic courses with the requirements of the labor market and modern scientific research, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University organized a field visit for students of the "Gene Therapy" course to the Golden Company's biotechnology research laboratory, supervised by Dr. Nasibah Al-Qutaish, a faculty member.
The purpose of the visit was to give students the opportunity to apply advanced techniques they had learned the basics of during the course, including (PCR) and (Gel Electrophoresis), both of which are fundamental pillars in research experiments in the fields of gene therapy and biotechnologies. During the visit, a comprehensive explanation of the experiment was provided from both theoretical and practical perspectives, highlighting the practical applications of these techniques in scientific research and modern medical fields. The program gave students a unique experience to understand the research and industrial work environment directly, to learn about specialized training courses and practical training opportunities post-graduation, which contributed to providing them with valuable practical experience and a deeper understanding of the requirements of research-related professions in this field.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Huweij, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Arab Amman University, praised the visit, confirming that such activities contribute to broadening students' professional horizons and enhancing their practical and research skills. They also support the culture of innovation and scientific research among students, positively reflecting on the quality of education and the outcomes of the faculty, and preparing them to meet the challenges of the labor market and innovation in the fields of modern pharmacy and biotechnologies. Dr. Al-Qutaish pointed out that these practical visits significantly enhance students' understanding of theoretical content, connect it with practical application, develop their research skills, and qualify them for active participation in research projects and the future job market.
