Saudi Arabia Tornado Cyclonic in Tabuk

Khaberni - The Governorate of Umluj in the Tabuk region experienced a cyclonic tornado due to weather fluctuations that included dusty wind activity and the fall of thunderous rains, amid an unstable weather condition that affected parts of the region.

The official spokesman for the National Center for Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, explained via the "X" platform, that the meteorological phenomena that affected the Umluj Governorate resulted from descending winds accompanying cumulonimbus clouds with thunderous rainy conditions. These phenomena included gusty winds that contributed to the formation of a cyclonic tornado northeast of the governorate.
The National Center for Meteorology confirmed the continuation of accurate monitoring and surveillance of the weather situation, urging everyone to adhere to the issued warnings and to take precaution and care to maintain public safety.

Meanwhile, the center predicted moderate to heavy thunderous rains, which may lead to flooding and accompanied by hail showers, in parts of the Qassim, Northern Borders, and Eastern regions.

The center also noted that the weather condition includes the northern parts of the Riyadh region, with continued temperature drops and dusty winds causing potential near-zero horizontal visibility in parts of those areas, in addition to parts of the Tabuk and Medina regions, especially the coasts.

Thunderous clouds and possible fog

It indicated that the conditions are still conducive for the formation of thunderous rainy clouds, preceded by active winds that limit horizontal visibility on parts of the western and southwestern parts of the Kingdom, and the formation of fog on parts of those areas, as well as parts of the Al Jouf region.
