Jordan 28 JD average household spending on mobile internet

Khaberni - Official government figures revealed that the average monthly spending of a Jordanian household on mobile internet services (most common and widespread such as 4G and 5G) is around 28.3 JD, according to Al Ghad newspaper.

This was revealed by official figures published a few days ago as part of the annual survey on the use of technology and communications in Jordanian households, which covers the year 2024 (but represents the latest figures), where the figures also showed that the percentage of households using mobile internet technology (such as 4G and 5G) is the highest among all households and individuals using the internet in general, at about 88%.
The results of the survey, conducted by the Department of Statistics in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, mentioned that the average monthly spending of a Jordanian household on broadband internet services with wired technologies such as (fiber and DSL) reached about 30.5 JD per household in the year 2024.
The results indicated that the percentage of households using wired internet services (such as fiber and DSL) is lower than mobile in the year 2024, reaching about 39.3% of all households using the internet in general.
The prices in the local market are among the lowest and most moderate compared to regional markets, especially as there is high competition between three main operators providing 4G and 5G services and fiber services, and a number of operators also primarily provide fiber services.
The results of the official survey showed that the percentage of Jordanian individuals (over five years old) who use the web in general and with all its technologies reached 95.6% in the year before last.
The survey showed that this percentage is very high and shows the extent of Jordanians' connection to the service, surpassing the Arab average of 69.6% and the global average of 67.6%.
The survey, the results of which were announced by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship a few days ago, confirmed that the percentage of individuals using the internet in Jordan in the year 2024 had increased from its recorded rate in the previous year 2023, which was then 92.5%.
The survey on the use and spread of communications and information technology, which covered the year 2024, aims to provide a comprehensive database on the use of information and communications technology among households and individuals in Jordan.
Furthermore, the survey results clarified that the percentage of Jordanian individuals aged five years and older who use the internet daily in the year 2024 was approximately 94.8%, with the highest usage rate from home at about 98%, and 65.1% while roaming, while the usage rate in public places reached 47.7%.
