Jordan 15 million students kick off the second semester today

Khaberni - About 1.5 million students resume their studies on Sunday in 4081 public schools and military culture schools, marking the start of the second semester of the current year, amidst intense preparations by the Ministry of Education to ensure the regularity of the educational process.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry, Sahar Al-Shakhatreh, announced that the schools are equipped to receive students with textbooks and heating facilities to cope with the cold weather conditions affecting most areas of the kingdom.

The Ministry continues to implement its decision to adjust the school start time in line with the decision to keep daylight saving time, where the morning assembly at schools is at 8:15 AM, and the first period starts at 8:30 AM. For the afternoon session, the assembly begins at 12:50 PM and the first period at 1:00 PM. This schedule will continue until the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Mahmoud Hayasat, stated that the ministry will make a new adjustment to the class schedules with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Hayasat clarified, in statements to “Al-Mamlaka” on Saturday evening, that the ministry continues to implement its decision to adjust the school start time in line with the decision to keep daylight saving time, where the morning assembly at schools is at 8:15 AM, and the first period begins at 8:30 AM, while the assembly for the afternoon session starts at 12:50 PM, and the first period at 1:00 PM, noting that this decision will continue until the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
