Khaberni - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stated that he "has not targeted anyone's blood since he was the Minister" of defense, affirming "Egypt's absolute and decisive rejection of any attempt to divide the countries of the region, or to seize parts of their territories, or to establish militias and entities parallel to the armies and legitimate national institutions."
In a speech during the celebration of the Egyptian Police Day, he called for "a return to the statement of July 3, 2013 and reading it," adding that it "was a statement full of kindness, and an attempt at reconciliation and reform," and continued saying "we gave a new opportunity for a new electoral cycle."
The Egyptian President added, "In Sinai, they were the ones who started it, in Cairo and in the Republic, they were the ones who began," questioning "who fired the shot?", and said, "The country accommodates us all, and we were not in the process of any action."
El-Sisi continued, "If people had remained silent and asked for elections - as was scheduled - we would have conducted elections in which President Morsi, may God have mercy on him, would participate," referring to the late President Mohammed Morsi.
He stated, "When we disagree, we must return to the people, and this was included in the July 3 statement," confirming that no one was "arrested" even an hour before the statement was issued.
The Egyptian President mentioned that the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement is a witness to Egypt’s efforts regarding Gaza, adding that displacing the people of Gaza would mean the displacement of hundreds of thousands to Europe and the West.
He affirmed that Egypt is pushing with full force for the complete implementation of the agreement and thwarting any attempts to circumvent it, especially with the significant effort made by U.S. President Donald Trump to reach this agreement.
He reiterated the emphasis on "the necessity not to hinder humanitarian aid directed to our people in Gaza, and on the necessity of full implementation of the second phase of the agreement, and the immediate commencement of rebuilding the sector to make it viable for decent life."
Rejection of Division or Creating Militias
The Egyptian President declared that Egypt "categorically and decisively rejects any attempts aimed at dividing the countries of the region, or carving out parts of their territories, or establishing militias and entities parallel to the armies and the legitimate national institutions," adding that Egypt considers "these practices in neighboring countries a red line that will not be allowed to be crossed as it directly affects the national security of Egypt."
El-Sisi emphasized that "the state institutions are an element of stability and security for the state, as militias do not protect states, and in the countries that imagined that creating militias could have a role in protecting regimes, these militias have turned into a tool for destroying the states, and those who did so are gone."
El-Sisi indicated that "heavenly religions and human values reject the heinous practices witnessed by the world," affirming that his country "has not been involved in any conspiracy against any country in the region."
He pointed out that Egypt has become a safe haven for millions from other countries, adding that Egypt will remain a strong barrier against illegal immigration.
El-Sisi stressed that "extremism will find no ground nor refuge in Egypt," explaining that "our goal is to protect more than 100 million citizens in Egypt."
