Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday that the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian government and the Kurdish forces, which expires on Saturday evening, has been extended for 15 days.
The Ministry added in a statement, "The extension of the ceasefire supports the American operation to evacuate ISIS prisoners from 'QSD' (Syrian Democratic Forces) prisons to Iraq."
The Syrian Army Operations Authority stated that the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD) have brought in military reinforcements from the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), classified as a terrorist organization, coming from the Qandil Mountains to the Hasakah province.
The Authority added that the "QSD" organization continues to commit widespread violations in the areas under its control, through actions of arrest, displacement, and torture against anyone opposing its policies.
The Operations Authority warned the "QSD" organization and PKK militias, against continuing what it described as provocations, spreading lies, and circulating edited clips.
It indicated that it is currently studying the field reality and evaluating the operational situation to determine the next step.
The Authority also announced that humanitarian corridors will be opened in the coming hours to provide support and relief, in cooperation with the relevant ministries.
The Operations Authority affirmed that the Syrian Army will be the protective shield for the entire Syrian society, will preserve the territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and will stand against all transnational terrorist projects.
