Khaberni - Jordanian international striker Ali Alwan has joined the Qatari team Al-Sailiya for the end of the season on a renewable contract, this Saturday.
A source at the club said that Alwan (25 years old) has integrated into the team's training after finalizing all administrative matters related to the contract between the two parties.
He added that Alwan will be registered in the club’s roster at the Qatar Football Association, replacing Algerian striker Mohamed Benyettou, whose contract with the team was mutually terminated.
Alwan’s first appearance with Al-Sailiya will be in the upcoming match against Al-Shamal in the 14th round of the Qatari league scheduled for next Friday.

Alwan was very close to moving to the Saudi club Al-Riyadh, but negotiations stopped at the last minute, leading Al-Sailiya to step in and finalize the deal after paying the buyout clause in the player's contract with the Iraqi club Al-Karamah.
Alwan notably emerged with his national team in recent years, delivering impressive performances in the Arab Cup in Qatar late last year, and led his national team to the runner-up position of the tournament, finishing as top scorer with six goals.
He also contributed to the "Al-Nashama" reaching the World Cup 2026 finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada for the first time in the history of the Jordanian national team.
Alwan, who started his career with Jordan’s Al-Jazeera in 2018, played for Al-Shamal in Qatar in the 2023 season then moved to his compatriot Al-Khor, returning on loan to Al-Shamal the following season, before transferring to Selangor FC of Malaysia last season, and from there to Al-Karamah in Iraq at the start of the current season.
With the Iraqi team this season, Alwan played 11 matches, scoring 5 goals and providing one assist, and has played 57 matches for his national team since 2020, scoring 27 goals.
