Khaberni - Egyptian artist Yasser Sadiq has suffered a health setback in the past few hours, which necessitated his admission to the intensive care unit for the second time, as he was in a private hospital in Cairo under medical care for several days.
A fierce battle with the illness
A source close to Yasser Sadiq told "Al Arabiya.net" that the famous artist recently suffered a severe health crisis and was admitted to the hospital for treatment, undergoing several medical tests and analyses afterward.
The source added that the doctors discovered he had a tumor that began to spread in several areas of the body, which necessitated his admission to intensive care until his condition somewhat stabilized, but it relapsed in the past few hours again.
Union support and human stance
The source continued that there is significant attention from Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Actors’ Syndicate, towards the condition of the artist Yasser Sadiq, as he visits him daily in the hospital. Moreover, he recently issued a decision to appoint him as the chairman of the board of the Syndicate’s club, as a way to boost his morale during the treatment period.
It is worth mentioning that the artist Yasser Sadiq is a 1985 graduate of the Faculty of Commerce, Business Administration department. He led the acting team at the faculty and won several important awards, including First Director at Cairo University, First Actor at the same university, and then First Actor among Egyptian universities for his role in the play "Luka' bin Luka'".
He then joined the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Department of Acting and Directing, and graduated in 1994 with very good grades.
His professional career began in 1989 with the play "Takharif" before participating in some of the most important theatrical performances such as: "Hosh Badea", "The Day They Killed Singing", and "Si Ali and his follower Quffa". He also presented prominent drama works including: "Beit El-Eila", "Dahab Qishra", "Naufal's Prize", and "El-Fetewa",
the artist participated in cinematic works including: "The Two Friends", "Dantella", and "In Natural Colors".
Yasser Sadiq held several important cultural positions, serving as the General Manager of the Modern Theatre, and currently holds the position of Deputy Minister of Culture and President of the National Center for Theater, Music, and Folk Arts.
