Mahmoud Hayasat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, said that the ministry will make a new adjustment to the timing of class sessions with the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Hayasat explained on Saturday evening that the ministry is still continuing to implement its decision to adjust the start time of the school day in line with the decision to maintain daylight saving time. The morning assembly in schools will be at 8:15 AM, and the first period will begin at 8:30 AM, while the assembly for the afternoon period begins at 12:50 PM, and the first period at 1:00 PM in the afternoon, noting that this decision will continue until the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Hayasat confirmed that the Ministry of Education has completed all the preparations in schools to welcome students in the second semester. This includes providing textbooks on the first day of the semester and ensuring heating in classrooms, in light of the cold weather conditions affecting most areas of the kingdom.
He pointed out that about 1.5 million students will resume their studies starting tomorrow, Sunday, in 4081 schools, distributed among public schools and military culture schools.
