Khaberni - A match in the Turkish second division witnessed a humorous and unusual incident, when the referee insisted on applying the law to the letter, despite the harsh weather conditions that made playing almost impossible.
The event took place during a match between the top team, Kahramanmaraş, and Trabzon 1460 club, where the snow covered the pitch to a depth of nearly half a meter.
Despite the clear unsuitability of the field for the match, the referee decided to go down to the pitch to test whether the ball would bounce or not, in accordance with the regulations.
The scene amazed the players and the audience, and quickly spread on social media as a rare example of literal adherence to the law even in the strangest conditions, before the match was later postponed due to bad weather.
CONCACAF would've said this was playable 🤪

An astonishing scene in the Turkish 3rd tier, as the referee carries out a pitch inspection despite there being more than a foot of snow on the grass. Eventually, game off 🥶pic.twitter.com/jt1s9QD0Wu
