Khaberni - The daily statistical report issued by the medical authorities in the Gaza Strip recorded the arrival of four new martyrs and 12 injuries to the sector's hospitals during the past 48 hours, in continuation of the Israeli aggression, amidst humanitarian and health conditions described as extremely dangerous.
The report issued by the Ministry of Health clarified that the child Ali Abu Zor, three months old, died in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital due to severe cold, in an incident that reflects the worsening humanitarian disaster, raising the number of child fatalities due to cold since the beginning of the winter season to ten, amidst a severe shortage of heating and shelter, and continuing deterioration of living conditions for the displaced.
It mentioned that a number of victims are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings and on the streets, at a time when ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them so far, due to extensive destruction, the danger of the field conditions, and lack of logistical capabilities and fuel.
According to the report, the casualty toll since the ceasefire (on October 10th) reached 481 martyrs and 1,313 injuries, in addition to 713 cases retrieved, confirming that the ceasefire did not end the human losses nor reduce the ongoing effects of the aggression on the population and infrastructure.
On the cumulative statistical front since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th, 2023, the number of martyrs has risen to 71,654, while the number of injuries has reached 171,391, in one of the bloodiest genocide campaigns in the history of the sector.
The report indicated the addition of 88 martyrs to the cumulative toll, after completing their data and officially recognizing them by the Martyrs' Accreditation Committee, for the period from January 16, 2026, to January 23, 2026, indicating the ongoing update of numbers with the documentation of cases previously unrecorded due to war conditions.
These figures come at a time when the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening, with continued suffering of hospitals from a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, and ongoing warnings from health institutions about a complete collapse of the medical system, unless sufficient and urgent aid is allowed in, and ensuring that rescue teams reach the victims without obstacles.
