Income Tax 156000 Registered in the National Billing System

Khaberni - The General Director of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Hossam Abu Ali, stated that the number of registrants in the electronic national billing system has reached approximately 156,000 taxpayers, while the number of invoices issued daily exceeds one million.

Abu Ali expressed gratitude and appreciation to all the taxpayers from companies, establishments, service providers, professionals, artisans, and individuals who have taken the initiative to register in the electronic national billing system and to comply with issuing invoices through it.

He called on the obligated taxpayers who have not yet registered to expedite their registration and legalize their situations, affirming that compliance with issuing invoices systematically through the system contributes to organizing commercial transactions, enhancing transparency, and achieving tax equity.

Abu Ali explained that teams from the enforcement and billing directorates will conduct field visits to gather feedback from the compliant parties and monitor observations and suggestions, in addition to checking compliance with the system's regulations.

He emphasized that the purpose of these visits is not to impose penalties but to notify the non-compliant parties and give them a week's deadline to rectify their statuses, with legal actions to be taken against the violators in accordance with the valid legislations.

Abu Ali highlighted that the visits would include all categories and sectors obligated to register in the system.

He confirmed that the electronic national billing system has been linked with the government's "Sand" application, enabling companies and establishments to verify that their local purchases are from compliant suppliers, in addition to allowing anyone receiving an invoice to check its validity by scanning a QR Code through the digital document verification option inside the application.

He pointed out that the department has listed the names of the compliant suppliers on its website, enabling companies and individuals to verify the compliance of those they deal with, in line with the amendment of Article (3) of the System of Expenses and Allowances, Utilization, and Exemptions, and adoption of the electronic invoice through the national billing system, noting that the work under this clause begins as of the first of April next.

He added that taxpayers could review the sectors covered by the system through the department's website, assuring that the department will continue to provide technical support and guidance, where contact can be made with the Taxpayer Service Center by phone or via WhatsApp at 062222130, or through the department's official social media accounts, to get assistance and answer inquiries and follow up on electronic transactions.
