Khaberni - Khaberni observed in several neighborhoods in the Jordanian capital Amman the ongoing phenomenon of digging through containers at night by individuals driving vehicles and sharing the areas where the containers are located.
As usual, the rummaged waste scattered around the edges of the containers, creating unsightly and polluted health hazards.
It is still unknown why the Amman Municipality authorities have not acted to curb the container digging, while the Jordanian government is aggressively campaigning to protect the environment and installing cameras to stop random disposal at the containers.
Yousef Al-Shawarbah, the Mayor of Amman, can take a nighttime tour of the side streets in the capital's neighborhoods to personally verify the complaints that reach Khaberni about the organized digging mafias of the containers, which result in uncivilized scenes.
