Khaberni - Media reports revealed that Xabi Alonso's name was recently proposed at the table of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, in the context of discussions about the future of Morocco's national team technical staff during the upcoming phase.
Moroccan media personality Ilyes Kaddouri stated on X that the current president of the Moroccan federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, currently shows no interest in contracting Xabi Alonso, despite the great technical value the Spanish coach possesses and the ascending path he is showcasing in his coaching experience.
He added: "The sports project of the Royal Moroccan Federation primarily aims to enhance Moroccan identity within the national team, by relying on a Moroccan coach capable of understanding the particularities of the national football and the requirements of the upcoming phase, in case of consideration to replace the current coach, Walid Regragui."
He continued: "If the local coach option becomes impractical, the alternative direction involves contracting a globally renowned coach with vast international experience, which aligns with the ambitions of the Moroccan national team and its upcoming continental and international commitments, far from interim solutions or temporary choices."
