Khaberni - The first commercial plane of “Air Cairo” from the city of Asyut in Upper Egypt landed today, Friday, at Amman city airport, following its reopening.
The CEO of Jordan Airports, Engineer Ahmed Al-Azzam, stated that today marked the launch of the first flight from Amman city airport to Asyut in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
He added that this flight is the first of many the airport will start operating, as Amman city airport is now ready to receive and handle scheduled flights, having previously been subject to certain constraints.
Al-Azzam noted that starting from today, flights will continue regularly; with two weekly flights scheduled by “Air Cairo” and starting from the beginning of next month, “Al Jazeera” company will also begin operating two weekly flights from the State of Kuwait, as part of the operations from Amman city airport.
He explained that this comes after the completion of airport preparations on both the air and ground sides.
On his part, the agent of “Air Cairo” and the sales manager in the Kingdom, Ahmed Sallam, expressed his delight with the arrival of the first flight by “Air Cairo” coming from the city of Asyut in Upper Egypt to the heart of Amman, via Amman city airport, making it the first airline to land in the airport.
He said that two flights will be scheduled weekly, every Wednesday and Friday, where the flight will depart from the city of Asyut and return to it, carrying approximately 170 passengers per trip.
