Khaberni - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said today, Friday, that Spain will not join the Peace Council initiated by US President Donald Trump
Sanchez told reporters after a European Union summit in Brussels: "We appreciate the invitation, but we reject it."
Sanchez added "We do this, fundamentally and essentially, for consistency," noting that the decision is consistent "with the multilateral system, the United Nations system, and international law."
Spanish Prime Minister also pointed out that the council "did not include the Palestinian Authority" and is outside the framework of the United Nations.
Sanchez continued: The future of Gaza and the West Bank must be decided by the Palestinians.
