Infant death due to severe cold in Mawasi Khan Yunis

Khaberni - Palestinian medical sources reported today, Friday, the death of an infant due to severe cold in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

They stated that the Palestinian child Youssef Omar Abu Hamala (6 months) died in his tent due to the severe cold, in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.

With the death of the child Abu Hamala, the death toll among children in the Gaza Strip due to the severe cold since the beginning of the winter season has risen to 11 children, amid a shortage of aid and lack of heating.

The same sources indicated that the incident reflects the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the sector, especially for children and displaced persons living in weak tents not equipped to face the cold weather.

The residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from the lack of shelter and treatment, and the absence of heating means due to fuel scarcity, amidst a stormy, cold, and rainy weather trough.
