Vice President Pence We Must Have a Share of Greenlands Wealth and Resources

Khaberni - Vice President J.D. Vance considers that the United States ensures the security of Greenland, and therefore should have rights to the island's natural resources.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Vance said: "First, we want to have a share of the wealth of this region rich in minerals and resources that we protect."

He pointed out that what ensures the security of the island is not Denmark but "the power of the United States."

He added: "Above all, and this is extremely important from a national security perspective. What would happen if another country launched an intercontinental ballistic missile towards the United States? Without control of the Arctic, the entire missile defense system would be destabilized."

J.D. Vance confirmed that President Donald Trump is "working on the details" of the Greenland deal.

Trump announced the creation of a framework for a future agreement on Greenland and the Arctic region, following a meeting he described as "very productive" with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Trump indicated that "this agreement, if completed, would be a special solution for the United States and all NATO member states."

It should be noted that Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. In 1951, Washington and Copenhagen signed a special defense agreement for Greenland, alongside their commitments within NATO, under which the United States pledged to defend the island in the event it faced any military threat.
