Morocco Seeks Iniestas Expertise for 2030 World Cup Plan

Khaberni - Indications are increasing about the approaching involvement of Spanish star Andres Iniesta, the legendary former Barcelona and Spain national team player, in taking an official role within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Media reports mentioned that 41-year-old Iniesta was recently seen in the stands of the "Moulay Abdellah" stadium in Rabat, where he watched the final of the African Nations Cup, sparking speculation about the nature of his potential mission, especially given his recent frequent presence in Moroccan football circles.

According to available data, the Moroccan Federation is in advanced talks with Iniesta to grant him a significant technical role, either by appointing him as technical director or by including him in the technical staff of the national team, with scenarios circulating about involving him as an assistant coach in the technical staff of the "Atlas Lions" national team.

Conversely, other reports suggest that the federation is considering the future of the national team's technical leadership, with the possibility of changes to the current staff led by Walid Regragui.

The name of the national coach Tariq Sektioui is being discussed as a potential candidate for the position of technical director, with Iniesta possibly serving as first assistant, while Youssef Hadji may take on the role of second assistant, in a technical setup that combines local experience and international vision.

This approach is part of a long-term strategic project aimed at building a Moroccan national team capable of competing as effectively as possible in the 2030 World Cup, and benefiting from the unique experience of Iniesta, who is considered one of the greatest midfielders in the history of football, and whose career has been filled with successes at both club and national team levels.
