Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump attacked Democratic Representative of Minnesota, Ilhan Omar, demanding an immediate investigation into her "financial and political crimes," as he described.
Trump said: "The wealth of the Democratic Representative from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar, totals more than 30 million dollars. Legally, such wealth cannot be amassed through a political salary. She must be investigated for financial and political crimes, and the investigation must begin now!"
This attack is the latest in a series of harsh statements Trump has made towards Representative Omar, having previously suggested that she "should either be thrown in jail or deported to Somalia".
Writing on the platform "Truth Social," in a highly assertive tone, the president said: "There are 19 billion dollars in 'Somali' fraud operations in Minnesota.. The fake 'Congresswoman' Ilhan Omar, a perpetual complainer who hates the United States, knows everything there is to know (about this)."
He added: "She should be in jail, or even face a worse punishment; being sent back to Somalia, which is considered one of the worst countries in the world. She could help make Somalia great again!"
It is noted that Omar has been a target of repeated attacks from Republican lawmakers and right-wing media coverage because she is a Somali immigrant. Trump last year described Somalis as "garbage" and "smelly" during a press conference and hinted that they contributed nothing to the United States.
For her part, Representative Omar commented on these attacks, considering them often driven by a negative news context surrounding the Trump administration. She told "Guardian" magazine: "When things are not going well for him... he starts to stir up bigotry."
