Khaberni - Media reports revealed that President Donald Trump's administration intervened to impose censorship and delete extensive parts of a new strategic report prepared by the "Heritage" Foundation, which warns of serious gaps in American military readiness that could lead to catastrophic outcomes in the event of an armed conflict with China over Taiwan, according to Fox News.
The authors of the report, titled "TIDALWAVE," stated that senior national security officials requested that specific details be redacted in black for fear that adversaries might exploit the information, which clearly revealed structural weaknesses in logistics and resilience capabilities of the American forces and their allies in the Pacific.
The findings in the revised version of the report indicate that the United States could reach a "practical breaking point" within weeks of the start of a high-intensity conflict, with simulations conducted through advanced artificial intelligence models concluding that American forces would deplete their supplies of vital ammunition and fuel much faster than the Chinese side.
According to the report, the American reliance on a limited number of large bases in Japan and Guam makes the air force vulnerable to destruction by up to 90% while still on the ground in the initial phase of the war, due to intense missile attacks.
The report identified "fuel" as the biggest challenge, not because of a shortage of overall stock, but due to the inability to transport and distribute it under enemy fire, as Chinese military doctrine prioritizes targeting supply ships and pipelines, which could completely paralyze American naval and air operations.
The experts warned that the repercussions would not be limited to the military field alone, but would extend to include an unprecedented global economic shock estimated at about 10 trillion dollars, resulting from the disruption of supply chains and the collapse of the semiconductor industry.
While the Department of War (Pentagon) refused to comment on the details of the report, military leaders confirmed the administration’s commitment to putting the defense industries on "war-time alert" to bridge production gaps.
However, the report concludes that the pace of current preparations and the allocated funding remains very slow compared to the speed of escalating threats, confirming that the deterrence window could close before Washington can address these deep strategic gaps.
