Khaberni - Experts from the Cancer Research Center in the United Kingdom have warned that some general symptoms that may appear on the entire body could indicate cancer, although these are often overlooked or misdiagnosed as other health issues.
The experts stated through the center's website: "Detecting cancer in its early stages increases the chances of successful treatment. Knowing some key signs and symptoms helps in early intervention."
They added that there are more than 200 types of cancer, each with its own symptoms, but some may be general and include weight loss, fatigue, and unexplained pain.
Despite the importance of these symptoms, the experts clarified that their presence doesn't necessarily mean cancer. The charity said: "In most cases, it won't be cancer, but any unusual symptom needs a medical checkup. Detecting the disease early makes a big difference."
According to the British "Mirror" newspaper, the experts pointed to three general signs that require attention:
Heavy night sweats or fever: It can sometimes be normal, such as during menopause or due to infections, but a doctor should be consulted if it is severe or recurrent without a clear cause.
Persistent fatigue: Occasional tiredness is normal, but continual exhaustion without a clear reason might indicate a health problem that requires medical evaluation.
Unexplained weight loss: Minor changes in weight are normal, but any noticeable, unintended weight loss should be immediately discussed with a doctor.
The charity urged people to pay attention to their body and communicate with doctors when noticing any unusual changes, considering that an individual's awareness of what is normal for them is an important step for early detection of cancer, where treatment is more effective.
