Commissioner of Tourism and Youth Affairs in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Thabet Al-Nablusi, discussed on Thursday with the president of the Glass Boat Owners Association in the city of Aqaba, Ahmad Shhadat, and the members of the association, ways to organize and develop this vital activity.
During the meeting, which was attended by the assistant commissioner, Waseem Al-Jarabieh, they discussed the most prominent operational and organizational challenges facing the owners of glass boats, in addition to work mechanisms, public safety requirements, and the organization of maritime movements, in line with regulating legislations to ensure improved service quality and provide a safe and distinctive tourist experience for visitors, thereby enhancing the tourist experience and Aqaba’s competitiveness as a leading tourist destination.
On the other hand, the Commissioner of Economic Affairs and Investment at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Mohammad Abu Omar, inspected the workflow at the Starfish Food Industries and Gulf Metal Manufacturing in the International Industrial Area in Aqaba.
He explored the experience of Starfish factory that operates entirely with Jordanian staff and exports its products to over 30 countries, alongside its expansion plans and its role in empowering women and enhancing environmental sustainability.
During his visit to the Gulf Metal Manufacturing, he explored ways to develop operations and future expansion, which contributes to supporting industrial growth, providing new job opportunities, and enhancing Aqaba's competitiveness as a regional investment hub.
