Khaberni - A domestic crime has shocked the public opinion in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, after a father proceeded to kill his son inside their home in the north of the city, in an incident revealed by security sources today (Thursday). According to security information, the crime occurred in the Al-Saklat area within the Al-Husseiniya precinct, where the father fired three direct shots at his 24-year-old son with a pistol, killing him instantly, to the astonishment of neighbors and local residents.
An Iraqi security source confirmed to local media that a force from the relevant authorities rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the report and managed to arrest the father without resistance, leading him away for investigation.
During the initial interrogation, the father confessed to committing the crime, justifying his action by stating that he saw a video of his son which he described as “immoral,” which ignited his anger and prompted him to make a tragic decision that ended his son’s life.
The crime has opened a wave of questions and outrage on social media, amid calls to uncover the psychological and social circumstances that led to this bloody outcome, while the security authorities continue their investigations in preparation for referring the father to the judiciary.
